I put together this guide to narrow down the best record player with built-in speakers to help you make a decision.
There are a few dozen brands that offer the portable turntable, this is a short version of the best for the cost available.
It’s really exciting to be able to play vinyl again and thanks to many companies old and new, they have made it much easier and affordable for us.
With a compact turntable that has all of your components already built-in, the only thing you need is a great vinyl record to listen to.
I have to be honest about when this style came out I was very hesitant about the quality. They looked cool but seemed really cheap and delicate.
After hours or research and testing, my mind was changed and I am now a very happy owner of a briefcase record player!

What to look for when buying a record player
Whether you are new to record players or returning to it, this process can be a little intimidating.
There are lots of choices, and to be honest some of them look good but might not sound the best.
Rest assured, we have done our homework and put together a fantastic list of turntables, some we own personally and some we got to play with for a week. We think these portable record players are the very best.
Here are some things to keep in mind when looking for a record player:
- Being portable is a great option, the suitcase version travel the best, while many others are small enough to carry from let’s say one room to the other.
- Record speed is important, the two main speeds you will be using are 33 1/3 and 45 RPM. If you have some old records, then check to see if they need to be played at 78 RPMs.
- Speakers, all the players in this article come with built-in-speakers. This will sound pretty good, but some better than others. If you want to be able to have a fuller sound, make sure they have RCA output so you can connect to external speakers.
- Do you want to ‘record’ to MP3? A couple of these can do that.
- Important to understand Bluetooth, these record players won’t play to a Bluetooth speaker. They only can play your smartphone device as the speaker. They do make some turntables that can do that, but you will pay a bit more for that.
- Do you want an all-in-one device to play CD’s, the Radio, and your smartphone?

Wockoder is a simple straight to the point record player.
Its a beautiful wood box with a clear dust cover, no fancy knobs or lights. But what it lacks in flashy decor it makes up for in sound.
The Wockoder is easy to use with the lever to lower the needle nice and gently so that it won’t scratch the record is a nice option.
This record player sounds really nice for its size and its portability makes this an excellent choice.

SeeYing portable turntable and radio reminds of the player I had in school. It came with big speakers and cassette player and the turn table was on top. Familiar plastic parts.
This is compact and portable which makes it easy to take from room to room. With speakers built in, it makes popping a record on easier than trying to pull up your bluetooth speaker and paring them with your phone.
Which is a great reason this is great for beginners who want to enjoy records.
The sound is from built-in stereo speaker’s, which are not bad but not the fullest sounding, but thats ok, you can hook up to bigger ones if you would like.

Byron statics vintage turntable is very similar to the Victrola and Crosley suitcase style. What makes this when special?
For starters it is slighty more affordable and based on reviews including mine, the sound has more defined fuller sound to it. That is important, if you plan on just using the built-in-speakers.
You can’t go wrong with this for under $4o dollars. Worth the money and makes a great gift for anybody who loves music.

I’m a big fan of this retro throw back.
The Crosley Dansette Bermuda portable turntable is just too darn cute to describe with words, and also it plays records!
The Bermuda is two things, a record player and a decorative piece in one. It is portable, but it is 3X the size of others coming in at 12 pounds and boxy.
It has removable legs if you want to place it somewhere like the counter.
The sounds is very nice, the Bermuda uses Audio-technica moving magnet cartridge and paired with the dual stereo speakers gives this a really good sound.
The Crosley Berlmuda is a really great piece that runs a little higher for portables, but for that you get alot.

Here is a great compact all-in-one record player from Victrola.
Right off the bat you notice the 50’s style body, sharp with the chrome knobs and panels.
Defiantly a cool looking multipurpose player. This can the radio, CD’s, bluetooth and records of course.
As a bonus, you can record your records to your computer via a USB cable and some software.
Overall, if you need all these functions then this retro player is perfect.

Music Public Kingdom might have finally made the best sounding portable record player.
Everything looks and feels really solid, nothing cheap or plastic.
This is portable, but it’s not like your typical suitcase style. Slightly bigger and doesn’t come with clasps or handles for some reason, but that is easily overlooked when it comes to the sound.
Comes with an Audio-Technica MM cartridge and built-in two stereo speakers that give a clear and vibrant sound.
Balanced metal aluminum arm is another important feature that is missing form other players.
All in all, MPK went for quality and sound while remaining compact and portable.

You may have noticed these cool looking briefcases wrapped in denim or a nice pantone color.
It seems like that is what Crosley excels in, hip culture vibes.
They have been bringing stylish turntables worldwide for the past 20 years now. Crosley has so many designs and colors it’s hard not to like!
Of all the portable turntables, Crosley cruiser is one of the more popular ones. And that may be because what I just mentioned, they make LOTS of colors and designs.
It has everything you want and some. However, the bluetooth option is IN only, which means you connect your phone to it to play out its speakers. If we are all being honest, these tiny speakers aren’t that great, but for playing records, they are OK.
But you are not doomed, you connect to your external speakers via the RCA cables. And that is why I still think the Crosley Cruiser is a great record player.

FAQ Section
Do record players need to be plugged in?
Yes, these all require electricity. They all come with plugs and that is all you have to do is find and outlet and plug it in.
What speed do i play my vinyl?
The best way to find out is to check the inner label, and that will tell you if you need to have the switch on 45 RPM or 33 1/3 RPM. Another way is if you play a record and it sounds like chipmunks or the opposite, turn the record off and change the speed and then play it again.
Final Verdict
So there you have it, 9 of the best record player with built-in speakers There are so many great options, ranging from cost, looks, and sound.
Can you find all that in one, probably not too likely. But I think any of these would make you happy and bring that warm feeling of playing records to you.
There is nothing better than playing vinyl and hearing the crackle as the warm tones of the song start playing.
